Every year, the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) challenges thousands of young minds to solve complex problems using robotics. This year, Tinker School's very own team brought home the Gold Medal, and we couldn't be prouder.

The Challenge

The theme for 2025 was "AI in Agriculture." Teams were tasked with building an autonomous robot capable of identifying crops, monitoring soil health, and harvesting precision produce. The twist? The field layout was randomized before every run.

The Solution

Our team decided to use a mecanum-wheel chassis for omnidirectional movement. They integrated a custom vision system using a Raspberry Pi to identify crop colors in real-time. The code was optimized for speed, using a PID controller to ensure smooth navigation around obstacles.

The Result

With a perfect run time of 85 seconds, Team Tinker secured the top spot against 50+ international teams. This victory is a testament to months of hard work, late-night coding sessions, and relentless testing.
